#27: Would You Delay the Menopause If You Could? With Dr Lisa Holland [PODCAST]
Nov 29, 2019
A few days ago, I read an article featuring a 39-year-old woman who had part of an ovary removed so that she could delay the menopause and perhaps even have a baby when the time was right for her.
As a trusted women’s health coach who helps guide women through this challenging time, I couldn’t help but become a little introspective.
Would I delay the menopause if I could?
It’s such an interesting topic.
So when I sat down to record this podcast with Dr Lisa Holland, women’s health advocate, life coach, certified yoga therapist, Doctor of Physical Therapy and spirit-led entrepreneur, we couldn’t help but discuss what we thought about the topic. As I’m sure you’ll agree, we came to come very interesting conclusions.
But we didn’t stop there. As with all great conversations, we moved through various topics such as what it means to be a woman in the 21st century, how our bodies aren’t what make us female, what meditation is really all about, and much more.
It’s a lovely meandering conversation that I know you’re going to love.
- Why we should trust nature and understand the bigger picture when it comes to the menopause
- How fertility and a desire to have children can play a role in career progression
- The truth about feminism, energy and fluidity
- How it felt to have an ‘older’ mother and how it affected me
- The enormous value of a women's third age
- Why it’s so important to understand our energy at 50, 60 and beyond
- How we can positively influence ourselves and others to feel better during the menopause
- Why we don’t need others to ‘fix’ us but we need to take responsibility ourselves
- Being quiet within yourself, and its value in the modern world
- Why meditation is now being taught at school (hint, it’s not ‘woo woo’ at all)
- How visualisation can transform your life massively
- What feminine power really means and where it comes from
- How your natural cycle shifts at the menopause
And much much more! Put the kettle on and have a listen.
