Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation where the body and mind are free from stress, anxiety and tension.
Hypnotherapy is often mistaken for stage hypnosis where the main purpose is entertainment. It is not possible to hypnotise individuals against their own will. It is a safe and natural state of being.
Clients have to be motivated, and driven towards achieving their goal, and this belief optimises their potential within hypnotherapy.
A Hypnotherapist will carry out a confidential assessment to determine the presenting issues and agree a treatment plan with their client. Issues such as smoking cessation may take one or two appointments, but deep-rooted issues may take longer.
Everyone has his or her own experience of hypnosis; at worst an individual may simply drift off to sleep. It is impossible to get stuck in hypnosis, as it is a natural and normal state of being. There are no negative side effects from having hypnotherapy.
Yes I do.
Easibirthing is about understanding and utilising hypnosis to your best advantage during the birth and beyond. It places birth as a central role in your adjustment to becoming a parent.
The best time to start Easibithing sessions is approximately around 20 weeks gestation, because this gives you time to learn and practice each technique before your first signs of labour.
Yes of course however, it would benefit you if you attended sessions with your birthing partner as they play a significant role in keeping you focused in childbirth if you need them too. Alternatively, you could listen to my MP3 recording together in the comfort of your home and practice together.
Depending on how much spare time you have during your week to rehearse techniques will make a difference to your confidence. Nevertheless, couples that practice Easibrithing techniques two or more times per week have found that they felt confident, calm and in control during childbirth and parenthood.
The earlier you start Easibirthing course the better. The course is five sessions in total, and each session lasting one hour.
During our five sessions together we will cover: anxiety management, preparation of your mental state, stage One labour, stage Two and stage Three of labour including breastfeeding and parenthood. I also guide you on subjects on optimal posture for you and baby and tips to manage your energy levels for optimal health.
Yes you can. I’ll teach you how to count yourself in and out of self-hypnosis. We practice changing positions during our birth rehearsal in session four.
