Self Care: 4 Self-Care Tips to Help You Take Care of Your Hormones

Jul 20, 2018

This week I’ve been sharing my favourite self-care tips on Instagram and Facebook with the aim of inspiring you to be kinder to yourself and nurture yourself just a little bit more.

To make sure no one missed these posts, I’ve decided to put them all together into this easy-reference blog that you can come back to whenever you need a quick reminder.

I do all of these things every day and they really help me to keep my energy levels up, keep my hormones in balance and also take care of my mental and physical health.

Which of these self-care practices do you already do? Which could YOU add to your daily routine?

Day 1. Choose fluoride-free toothpaste

The first thing you should do to take care of your hormones is switch to a fluoride-free toothpaste.

Whether you’re peri-menopausal, menopausal or post-menopausal, this simple switch will make a massive difference to your overall hormone balance.

Watch the short video below to find out why.

Day 2: Practice tongue scraping

Tongue scraping might sound harsh or even painful, but it’s definitely not! Instead, it’s a great way to remove bacteria, undigested food, fungi, toxins and dead skin cells from your tongue.

This not only makes your mouth a much cleaner, healthier place, but it also helps support your entire digestive system, boost your immune system and leads the way to better hormonal balance.

Here’s the video where you can find out more.

Day 3: Move your body!

It’s vitally important that we stay active and get enough exercise if we want to stay healthy.

Exercise help shake off the cobwebs and lift your mood, keeps your energy levels up, helps take care of your bone density, promotes better sleep and helps balance your hormones.

Watch the video to learn why this isn’t always easy for me and find out how I make exercise part of my day.

Day 4: Journaling!

And finally, I also find time every day to do some journaling because it really helps me to clear my mind, support myself emotionally and become my biggest cheerleader so I can feel fantastic.

Find out more about how I journal (there aren’t any rules!) and perhaps even get inspired to do the same.

So there you have it- four self-care tips that will help you be kinder to yourself, support your hormones and feel better through the peri-menopause, the menopause and beyond.
