How to Ease Menopausal Anxiety and Stress

Nov 09, 2017

Been feeling more stressed and anxious recently?

You’re not alone.

According to one study, up to 61% of women are suffering with anxiety due to the peri-menopause or intense PMT.

If you’ve ever experienced it, you won’t need me to explain just how challenging this can be. You just don’t feel like yourself anymore.

You live in a constant state of nervousness, worry and fear ranging from mild to severe.

Your mood fluctuates erratically and you can feel fine one minute, then depressed and panicky the next. As if that wasn’t enough, you find it hard to drop off to sleep and wake throughout the night feeling ‘out of sorts’, even though every ounce of you craves a good night’s sleep.

At times you lash out angrily at people around you, you don’t feel so comfortable in social situations (and maybe even avoid them) and you feel constantly on edge.

You know this isn’t normal for you, but it seems that no matter what you do, you...

World Menopause Day 2017- The Truth About Changing Hormones

Nov 02, 2017

A few weeks back, on 18th October, we celebrated World Menopause Day 2017, so as you’d expect, there were several programmes on the TV which attempted to explore more about this normal time in a woman’s life.

We heard stories about what it’s really like to experience hot flushes, vaginal dryness, anxiety, insomnia, depression, and everything else that popular culture tells us to expect from the menopause.

However, there was something that bothered me. I’ll be honest, it made me quite angry. Because all the media coverage talked about the menopause as if it was a traumatic, debilitating ‘condition’ or ‘illness’ that needed to be diagnosed and medicated.

The truth is actually very different.

Yes, the menopause can be a difficult time but it’s normal, natural and we can definitely take control and ease our symptoms, or even avoid them from happening in the first place.

For that reason, I decided to do a series of Facebook...

8 Easy Ways You Can Boost Your Libido During the Menopause

Oct 27, 2017

Last week I was lucky enough to deliver a training workshop to a group of therapists in Nottingham to help them help more women facing hormonal issues (you might have seen the photos on Facebook or read about it in my newsletter).

Anyway, during the workshop, one participant brought up the topic of sex, and confessed that she doesn’t have a libido at all and she isn’t bothered about it.

Now there’s nothing too unusual in this- many women experience a reduced libido in their lives, especially during the menopausal years. But what she doesn’t realise is that she doesn’t have to just do her best to tolerate her low libido- she can actually lift it back to its previous levels and start enjoying her sex life once again.

I know that low libido is a problem that many of you ladies face too so I thought I’d address that here for you today. I’ll share with you some really easy steps you can take to boost your libido, enjoy your sex life more and...

4 Vital Steps to Heal Your Fibroids Without Surgery

Oct 12, 2017

Over the last few weeks I’ve received several emails from women who are really suffering with their symptoms of fibroids and don’t know what to do. They feel absolutely awful with the pain, the bleeding and all the other discomfort so the only option that seems open to them is a hysterectomy.

They really don’t want to resort for surgery but they don’t feel they have much choice. So what if I was to share with you the following quote?

“French doctors almost never perform a hysterectomy for fibroids”

You see, a hysterectomy is quite a major operation that can severely impact your sense of body image, sexuality and femininity and is often completely unnecessary. And the French doctors know that.

Additionally, whilst the risk of death is low with hysterectomies, the chances of complications are said to be around 30% so you’re absolutely right in being cautious.

So is there another option? Is there really another way to beat those fibroids...

Your overall health depends on the health of your digestive system.

Because our digestive health is so very important, we've got together this week with registered naturopathic hydrotherapist, Jane Bush to discover why colonic irrigation can transform our health, and hear some of her inspiring success stories of people who have gone for treatment and finally healed stubborn health issues after many years of struggle.

Please. Forget Dieting. Eat What’s Right for You

Sep 16, 2017

Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and thought:

Oh my goodness, I really HAVE to do something about [those horrible love handles/my thighs/my belly/any other body part]”?

You feel uncomfortable in your own skin, you feeling fat and frumpy and you want to lose some extra weight so you don’t have to feel self-conscious when you put on a swimsuit or fasten up your jeans.

So you do what anyone else in your position would do- you tell yourself sternly “RIGHT! I’m going on a strict diet!!!” and vow you’ll never let yourself eat a chocolate eclair for as long as you live.

Of course, after just a few days or a week or two, you decide that life without your mid-afternoon bar of chocolate isn’t worth living, that you don’t really care about that swimsuit, or even that you’ll just try to lose those extra pounds sometime in the future.

You completely give up on your diet and your hopes of losing those excess pounds,...

Are your Negative Thoughts Affecting Your Menopause Experience?

Sep 01, 2017

“If you think the cause of your problem is “out there”, you'll try to solve it from the outside. Take the shortcut, solve it from within.”- Byron Katie

It’s not just those stereotypical perimenopause and menopause symptoms (like hot flushes, insomnia, weight gain, low sex drive and brain fog) that can make our lives incredibly difficult once we hit the menopausal years.

It’s also how we feel about the menopause.

It’s those words of self-doubt that spring out when you least expect it. Thoughts like ‘I’m not good enough’, ‘I’m just fat, ugly and frumpy now’, ‘It’s all downhill from here’, ‘I’ve lost my sex appeal’ and so on.

And whilst these thoughts, emotions and beliefs about ourselves can be uncomfortable at the time, they seem relatively harmless. So we just do our best to brush them aside or to bury them out of sight.

But did you know that by not addressing your...
